2023 BRIC Summit
10—11 February
The BRIC Summit was packed with engaging speakers and solutions-driven workshops for industry professionals and up-and-coming talent, providing access and education from experts in the field representing the world’s most iconic entertainment brands.
The 2023 BRIC (Break, Reinvent, Impact and Change) Summit was held in-person at Netflix Animation on February 10th and the Global Talent + Education Day was virtual on February 11th. The Summit’s goal is to bring a community of thought provokers together from different facets of the entertainment, media, and tech industries to collectively solve how we support and nurture up-and-coming talent – as it pertains to women and underrepresented groups who have an interest in being creative leaders.
2023 Summit Findings
Review the solutions that were workshopped by leaders, educators, creators, and activists placed into randomly selected small groups. The findings focus on the work that you, your team, your company, and educators can do to help enact change in the DEIA space.
Answering four key questions:
BREAK: The Default
How can one navigate hegemonic workspaces? Let’s explore the conversation around being “the only” in the room, while also understanding the ways we can break the current norm/reality of homogeneous spaces.
REINVENT: The Creative Economy
Taking a deep dive into understanding where we are lacking from research, policy, education, and resources to grow our future workforce and how you can make an impact.
IMPACT: The Hiring Mindset
What do innovative interviews look like and how can you bridge conversations for commonality? How do boundaries and support systems pave the way for a successful hire?
CHANGE: The Narrative
How do we recession-proof diversity? Let’s move diversity from altruism to business critical.
